Cortly “C.D.” Witherspoon and Marvin L. “Doc” Cheatham Sr., president of the Baltimore chapter of the National Action Network, in front of the Mitchell Courthouse Monday morning, rallying on behalf of Circuit Court Clerk Frank M. Conaway Sr.

Conaway is under investigation in connection with a Nov. 21 altercation with blogger Adam Meister in which, city police say, Conaway “brandished” a firearm. The state’s attorney’s office says Conaway’s gun had an expired permit and has called in an outside prosecutor to handle the case.
