Two individuals, “possibly juveniles,” identified in recent Anti-Semitic hate crimes

Residents and police met at the Park Heights JCC Thursday evening for a community meeting in response to the six cases of recent anti-Semitic vandalism, which police have classified as hate crimes, that took place in Jewish neighborhoods in Northwest Baltimore on August 13th and 14th. Deputy Major Sabrina Tapp-Harper told the crowds that the purpose of the meeting was to tell the community exactly what happened, solicit new information, and provide an update on police response to the vandalism (Baltimore Jewish Life recorded the entire meeting, which can be viewed here). Video surveillance identified a minimum of two individuals, “who we believe may be juveniles,” according to Tapp-Harper, who are responsible for spray-painting vans with swastikas among other Anti-Semitic obscenities. Police presence will increase in the areas that were targeted.
