Three Earth Week Events in Baltimore

Wednesday April 20th (Tonight!) at 6:00 pm – there will be a showing of “Mother Nature’s Child” at the Vollmer center of the Cylburn Arboretum, 4915 Greenspring Avenue, Baltimore. If your child has seen more potato chips than potatoes, you might want to take them to see this. After the film there will be a discussion, led by Mary Hardcastle, a participant in the film.
Thursday April 21st between 9 and 12 pm – the American Visionary Arts Museum will host The Envision Baltimore Initiative’s “Life in the 20 Minute Living Community.” The evening will focus on TOD (transit-oriented development) eco-friendly means of transportation. It is sponsored by Zipcar and Bike Maryland. Coffee and refreshments will be served. The organizers would like you to RSVP. Saturday April 23rd from 9:30 AM until noon – Real Food Farm (2801 St.Lo Drive, a left after 2701, in Clifton Park) and Sunnyside Farm, Baltimore will host “Who wants to be an Urban Farmer?” It promises to be a morning of how-to workshops about growing food in the city. Subjects will include, micro-greens, backyard chickens, and child-friendly show and tell. Registration is at 9:30 and the suggested donation is $5 to $15.
