B-more purples up for Ravens
Above: Which way is the momentum going for the Baltimore Ravens? This Alonso’s bartender’s 7 a.m. war dance today said it all.
The AFC North champion Baltimore Ravens kicked off their biggest Purple Friday of the season today in north Baltimore on Cold Spring Lane, at the perky, frosty hour of 7 a.m.
The Ravens cheerleaders waved to motorists, the mascot, Poe, mugged with pedestrians and, inside Alonso’s, fans started their tailgate drinking two days ahead of The Big Game.
That would be Sunday’s 1 p.m. home playoff game with the Houston Texans, which they need to win in order to vie eventually for the Really, Really Big Game (which the Brewers are too superstitious to specifically name).
If you want to catch the Purple Friday Caravan (the Marching Ravens, the Ravens Cheerleaders, mascots Poe, Rise and Conquer, even, the Ravens website promises “the front office staff!”) as they whoop it up and give away freebies all over town, then check out this list of their scheduled stops.
