7/1/13 statement from Cheron Porter, Baltimore Housing, director of communications, on Bel Park Tower
“Drug dealing is an issue in the neighborhood. When and if there is a criminal issue with a specific identified resident in the building, we contact the police department and proceed with lease enforcement up to and including eviction.
HABC is committed to providing safe and affordable housing for the city’s most vulnerable population. In light of the recent increase in violent crimes throughout the city, the safety of our residents is paramount. We continue to work closely with law enforcement and residents to find solutions that would create safer environments at our developments.
In light of specific complaints at Bel Park Tower, we have increased security at the property and are enacting long term security measures aimed at curbing all activity that is illegal and or a violation of lease terms.”
We received this via email late Monday from Cheron Porter, Director of Communications, Baltimore Housing
