Eat out, help the homeless in Baltimore
Buy a raffle ticket for a restaurant meal and help Manna House help homeless people in Baltimore. Manna House, a shelter on 25th Street that serves 200 meals a day to homeless people, has been getting more clients and fewer donations — no surprise in this economy. In addition to providing hot meals, the shelter gives people a place to sleep, take a shower, make phone calls and get assistance with HIV and AIDS-related issues.
To raise money, they’re selling raffle tickets to win gift certificates to some of the area’s best restaurants, according to Clare Berrang, a member of the group’s board of directors. Contact Clare at 443.573.3203 or cberrang@mackenziecommercial.com.
Here’s the list of restaurants: “b” Bistro in Bolton Hill, Claddagh Pub, Crush , Helen’s Garden, Helmand, John Stevens, Liberatore’s, Orchard Market, Tabrizi’s, Tapas Teatro. Tickets are $25 for one, $40 for two and $50 for three. 100% of the proceeds go to the operating expense of Manna House, according to Clare.
