He’s making it official Wednesday: Greater Baltimore Board of Realtors vice president Joseph “Jody” T. Landers III said today in a press release he will file papers with the city Board of Elections to enter the 2011 Baltimore mayoral race on the Democratic ticket.

After filing on Wednesday, he plans a 1:30 news conference at Chef Mac’s and All that Blues supper club on Harford Road.

Like the other political figure to make his candidacy official so far, former planning director Otis Rolley, Landers is making lowering the city’s property tax rate a major part of his platform.

Incumbent Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake, whose campaign fund-raising has vastly outstripped that of Rolley and the rest of the field, is also expected to formally join the  race. Other likely candidates include City Councilman Carl Stokes, State Sen. Catherine Pugh and city Clerk of Courts Frank Conaway.
