We thought we would pass along this video from Lakeland second grade teacher Janie Tankard; it won First Place in the Maryland State Bar Association’s 2013 Law Day video contest.
The video is the culminating project for their “Journey to Freedom” literacy unit where they read about American heroes who fought for racial justice, such as Harriet Tubman, Frederick Douglass, Abraham Lincoln, Martin Luther King, Ruby Bridges, and Thurgood Marshall.
